How to wire aux cable to Renault radios

This is a quick step by step guide showing how to wire in an auxilary ipod/mp3 cable into the most popular Renault radios found in most meganes, clios, trafics etc from 2005 onwards. Your radio should look like the one pictured below.

Step 1 – Remove the radiorenault radio removal tool

To remove the most common model of Renault radio you will need a Radio Removal Tool like the one pictured to the right. (click image for link to product)

These are inserted either side of the radio in the 4 corresponding holes. This releases the latch and lets you pull the radio out.

Step 2 – Wire in the aux cablerenault-aux-connectoraux cable

After radio is removed you will be able to access the connectors on the back. The new aux cable will plug into one of the free connectors. If you are using a CD changer you will have to disconnect it first.

Step 3 – Play your music

Once connected to your phone/ipod/mp3 player you simply press the aux/cd/source/select button on your radio to switch it over to your new cable.
